About This Game
Baki Hanma: Blood Arena NSP ROM is a fighting sports game, with anime and video games considered an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was almost inevitable that the series would arrive on Microsoft consoles – and it has. Developed by Purple Tree and released as “Baki Hanma: Blood Arena,” the game brings its unique, classic video game style to the big screen. Will it be a success, or is it better to stick with the anime? Let’s start with the first round! It’s no surprise that “Baki Hanma,” one of the best-selling manga of all time, has also been a huge hit on Netflix.
What is surprising, however, is the small number of video games adapted from the work. The studio Purple Tree intends to change that with its new fighting game, “Baki Hanma: Blood Arena.” But it’s not a fighting game in the style of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. It’s more heavily inspired by Super Punch-Out!! After all, Purple Tree is also the developer of Thunder Ray, another installment in the Super Punch-Out!! series. The inspiration is undeniable, but perhaps predictable. Is Baki Hanma: Blood Arena a good, entertaining game? Unfortunately, no.
Face The World’s Most Powerful Creature To Claim The Title Of God Of War
In Baki Hanma: Blood Arena, attacking alone isn’t enough to win. You have to dodge enemy attacks, or at least parry them. Press the left joystick or the D-pad down to crouch, left or right to dodge in the corresponding direction, and up to parry. Simple, right? In theory, yes. In practice, however, it gets complicated because it’s very difficult to guess how to dodge certain attacks. Sometimes, it’s easy to figure out that you need to dodge to the right to avoid left kicks.
However, most of the enemy attacks in Baki Hanma: Blood Arena are far more unpredictable. Even worse, some hits are practically unavoidable. In this game, you have to hit your opponent ten times to inflict the same damage they inflict on you with a single hit. I appreciate games with a hand-drawn art style, and Baki Hanma looks like it came straight out of an anime. From Baki, the main character, to the imposing Biscuit Oliva, the game features an impressive array of muscular fighters.
Each Opponent Has A Unique Fighting Style That Demands Different Strategies
The environments are also well-designed and simple, allowing you to move easily around the arena and its surroundings without being distracted from the action. Sometimes simplicity is key, especially in fighting games, and it offers just the right amount of visual impact to keep the player’s attention. The punches are powerful, the bone fractures from special attacks are incredibly realistic, and almost every hit feels authentic. The voice acting is quite good, though limited; however, the pronunciation of “K.O.” is a bit odd.
The storyline, on the other hand, is rather unusual. This game doesn’t seem to offer a very developed plot, which is common in fighting games. You play as Baki Hanma and must defeat a series of opponents; that’s it.
