About This Game

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a multiple action game…

Five years ago, Carl Johnson escaped the pressures of Los Santos, San Andreas, a city plagued by gangs, drugs, and corruption. It’s a place where movie stars and millionaires do everything they can to avoid drug dealers and gang members.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be released on November 11 for consoles and Windows PC. A day before its release, the developers detailed the major and minor changes made to this remastered version. In addition to improved graphics, players of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will enjoy updated controls, redesigned weapon selectors, and radio stations, including a layout inspired by Grand Theft Auto 5.

In this game, players will also benefit from modern features such as updated minimaps (waypoints can now be set in these classic games) and the ability to instantly replay failed missions, making the Definitive Edition even more accessible. Rockstar also detailed the graphical enhancements and platform-specific features of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will offer 4K resolution with a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second. The PC version will support NVIDIA DLSS. And the Nintendo Switch version will offer gyro aiming, as well as zoom, scroll, and touch controls for menus. I won’t elaborate further: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the best PlayStation 2 game I’ve ever played.

Open-world Design and Graphical Improvements

First of all, the frequency of the aforementioned graphical glitches is so disproportionate to their absence that they don’t bother me at all. Moreover, the single-player mode offers such a rich experience that the lack of an online mode is completely incomprehensible. A few audio glitches and other presentation issues overshadow all the other good things about the game. Of course, the real question is what makes San Andreas so extraordinary. In short, IGN and every other gaming media outlet has been sworn to secrecy since we got our hands on the game last week. And while we discussed several features that Rockstar plans to include at launch, no one mentioned our impressions of them.

More importantly, no one mentioned the real reason Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is so incredible: it’s the first game that makes players ask themselves, “What can’t I do?” instead of “What can I do?” Upon arriving in Los Santos, the Chief Justice is confronted by two corrupt cops: Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski. Completely corrupt, these two officers steal all of Carl’s money, frame him for the murder of a police officer who exposed their plans, and abandon him in enemy territory. Unarmed and outnumbered, the Chief Justice is forced to flee back to his old neighborhood to survive. Once the situation is resolved, the story picks up speed, and players encounter a myriad of characters in a very short period of time.

Gameplay GTA San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas maintains the structure of the previous two games in the series. Its core mechanics combine elements of third-person shooting and driving, offering players a vast open world to explore. As a pedestrian, the playable character can walk, run, swim (a first for the Grand Theft Auto series, where players can dive and swim without drowning), climb (with some limitations), and jump, in addition to using firearms and various forms of melee. Players can use a variety of vehicles, including cars, boats, planes, helicopters, trains, tanks, motorcycles, and bicycles. They can also import vehicles rather than steal them.

Carl Johnson is the main character with the most customization options in Grand Theft Auto, thanks to the ability to change his clothing, tattoos, hairstyle, and even his body: he can be fat, thin, or muscular. Later 3D games have removed many of these options. The ability to change body mass (through diet and exercise, or lack thereof, which requires constant maintenance) is a unique feature of GTA San Andreas in 2025, as it has not been replicated in any other 3D or HD game.

Players Customization

It’s bigger than the biggest RPG, has a richer story than the most ambitious adventure game, and features minigames like Nintendo’s Mario Party. Furthermore, the production quality is unmatched, its fidelity to the original ’90s game is incredibly accurate, and its longevity surpasses all previous Grand Theft Auto games combined. In short, it’s a timeless and extraordinary masterpiece whose prestige is immeasurable. It’s the flagship game for Sony’s second-most successful console, the PlayStation 2, and it’s almost impossible to imagine the console’s library without it. I think that statement has caused quite a stir. GTA veterans (and critics) will surely be concerned about the potential problems with San Andreas.
