The game follows Jack, a washed-up rock star turned underground guerrilla in New-Atlanta, a city under the thumb of the evil multinational corporation OmniCorp. Wrongly accused of a crime, Jack is forced underground and uses his musical talents and martial arts skills to overthrow the company’s oppressive regime. The narrative, blending scenes and in-game radio broadcasts, parodies corporate jargon and celebrity worship, with each scene punctuated by cutscenes and witty dialogue, perfectly suits the game’s offbeat tone.
The story is non-linear, allowing players to complete missions in any order, but the main story is carefully crafted to provide a gripping conclusion.
