About This Game
Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf NSP ROM is an adventure and strategy game focused on stealth. Its mechanics are very simple. As Lana, you run, jump, and slide to overcome obstacles while solving physics-based puzzles. Many of these puzzles require stealth and precision. You’ll need to coordinate your movements perfectly to avoid hostile creatures, robots, or any violent storms that may find you in the open.
Before diving into the world of Planet of Lana II, I had some doubts about the plot. I was drawn to the graphics and puzzles, but I had given up on the first game in the series. Would I arrive in Lana’s world too late to understand the story? Would the lack of dialogue and subtitles ruin my experience? In short, no. After a few minutes of the introductory sequence, the story unfolds, and I immediately connected with the characters. We follow Lana and her loyal companion, Me, as they save their planet from a machine invasion. This adorable duo will take you on an exciting journey to uncover the secrets of their planet’s past.
Physics-based Puzzles With Hybrid Creatures And Robots
Face dangers like dodging lasers or super-fast spider robots, auto-save and respawn points are always available, giving you plenty of room to experiment. The gameplay is introduced gradually, with a rewarding and continuous progression from start to finish. Players who played the first game will notice that Lana and I have developed and acquired new abilities. Lana is now more agile, while I can control robots and hypnotize certain creatures. After an alien attack on our planet, Lana teams up with Me to save her sister from the invaders.
Stranded on her planet, Lana discovers a flaw in the robots’ programming, and thanks to the return of cooperation between humans and machines, the future seems secure. Curious, Lana wants to learn more about her tribe’s ancestors. But Lana’s innocent curiosity is not shared by everyone, and soon the tribes are fighting each other, the newly discovered technology once again becoming a threat. It is up to Lana and Mo to mediate this escalating conflict and prevent another war from bringing humanity to the brink of extinction. The story is also a key element. Despite the use of fictional language, the emotional power of the plot is impressive. Although we, the players, do not understand the words, the meaning of the dialogue and the message of the story remain very clear.
Use Stealth And Strategy To Defeat Your Enemies
The story is told entirely in a fictional language, but without understanding a single word, the emotions and context of each moment are clear. You can feel Lana’s panic, Elo’s anger, and Mo’s fear and confusion. The game’s developers, by design, announced from the beginning that they were using a fantasy language to allow players to interpret the story as they wish, and this idea works wonderfully. The gameplay is very similar to the original side-scrolling platformer, with horizontal movement being the main objective, as well as the need to solve environmental puzzles and sneak up on enemies. Lana is a strong and agile character, and the influence of Play Dead is clearly visible in her movements. She can jump or run fast enough to avoid being killed, for example, by passing under doors.
The game seamlessly maintains the previous style, adopting a 2D adventure and puzzle approach reminiscent of titles like “Inside” or “Little Nightmares”, with one big difference: the companion system is central to the game. Lana and her loyal companion Moy continue to team up in this second installment, with puzzles constantly designed around the interactions between the two characters.
