The Night of the Rabbit NSP ROM is a point-and-play graphic adventure game developed and published by Daedalic Entertainment. Originally released on Steam several years ago, it has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch with an official version.
The story begins in a strange forest home to a mythical tree, a figure dressed in black, and a suitcase. A long, furry rabbit wanders the misty paths, while an ominous voice announces impending disaster. The action then shifts to Jeremiah Hazlent’s cozy bedroom, where his mother puts him to bed. Neither of them notices the shadow lurking outside the window, watching them intently. The next morning, the sky is clear and sunny, perfect for our hero to fully enjoy his summer vacation.

Marquis Jerry promises Jerry he will teach him the arts of magic if he manages to reach the Forest of Mice through a magical portal. Jerry immediately dons his hat and grabs his wand, agreeing to accompany the marquis on one condition: that he return in time for dinner. Thus begins Jerry’s journey to discover the small town of the Forest of Mice, populated by tiny creatures such as mice, squirrels, frogs, moles, rabbits, hedgehogs, and even a ground squirrel. This captivating interactive adventure game, the latest masterpiece from Daedalic Entertainment, takes place in a beautiful 2D world that evokes the feel of an animated comic book.
Enchanting voices and stunning graphics combine to perfectly capture the charisma and determination of the young hero on his journey through a wondrous world populated by human characters and giant household objects. Despite some occasionally ineffective and inconsistent gameplay mechanics, the practical and engaging inventory management maintains a brisk pace for much of the game.

Daedalic Entertainment is a studio that likes to pepper its games with surprises and unexpected events. I experienced this firsthand from the very beginning. Based on the graphics, I initially thought the game took place in a fantasy world. And that’s the case, but I was surprised to discover that Jerry lives in a real world, without magic. What immediately caught my attention were details like the radio outside the house and Jerry talking about the new episode of his favorite show airing that evening.
