Scott Pilgrim EX NSP ROM is an arcade action game developed by Tribute Games that stands out for its playable characters. In addition to Scott and Ramona, the game also includes classic enemies like Robot-01 and other well-known villains such as Roxy, Matthew, Lucas, and Gideon. Each character has their own unique style: Scott is versatile; Ramona is very powerful in melee combat thanks to her impressive charisma; Lucas is resilient and effective; Gideon constantly pressures opponents and inflicts considerable damage; Matthew is agile (a rare quality in fighting games!); Robot excels at ranged combat; and Roxy is a true ninja. If you’ve played fighting games before, you’ll feel right at home. The game’s strength lies in the variety of playstyles. Each character has combinations of light and heavy attacks.
Light attacks are ideal for chaining combos, while heavy attacks are perfect for destabilizing Vegans, Robots, and Demons. Both characters possess numerous special, strategic, and unpredictable attacks, from Gideon’s spinning sword to Ramona’s space fist and robotic bombs, clearly setting them apart from other games. Scott Pilgrim EX is one of the few fighting games that allows you to block attacks, offering advanced techniques like quick side dodges, various grabs, and the use of a well-executed super attack to avoid attacks—all without consuming Courage. You can also use support attacks, such as summoning characters to recover health or releasing Ramona’s cat, Gideon, who flies across the screen sowing chaos (these attacks also consume Courage).
Intuitive Combat System:
But my favorite aspect is the appearance of Little Neil, a die-hard Six Bomb fan. Many bosses have succumbed to his attacks, and I assure you he’s a unique and extraordinary addition to the Scott Pilgrim universe. Technically, the game takes place in 2023, after the events of the anime, but if you’re familiar with the general Scott Pilgrim storyline, you’ll have no trouble following along. Villains interrupt a rehearsal and kidnap all the members of the band Six Bomb (except Scott), along with their instruments. Scott, Ramona, and other playable characters embark on a cartoonish adventure in Toronto to rescue the instruments and the band members. The game is packed with references to video games and comics, all seamlessly integrated.
Create Stylish Fighting Moves:
Control your characters with light and heavy attacks, grabs, and special moves. Each character has their own unique control style and special moves, giving them great depth. Scott is a versatile character, while the others specialize in different playstyles. Ramona prefers to avoid fights, Roxy wields all kinds of ninja weapons, and Lucas Lee is a master of hand-to-hand combat. The true strength of the game lies in the synergy between all these characters in the four-player multiplayer mode. Inviting your friends to play together on a single device is easy, and you can expand your gaming experience by sharing matches and playing online. The combat system is engaging, but what truly sets Scott Pilgrim EX apart are its animations and music.

Details matter; not just depth. While classic enemies are weaker, their combat abilities are generally similar. Just like you, they can block, parry, and even dodge attacks. Therefore, adapting your movements to the situation is crucial. Playing EX feels like playing a fighting game, but with much shorter matches and more enemies. While EX’s more complex combat system makes the game more challenging overall, there are also several options available to help mitigate this difficulty. Just like in the first game, EX utilizes various elements of River City Ransom, allowing you to improve your abilities and level up using food and equipment. You’ll need to pay attention to these elements to remain competitive throughout the game.
