About This Game
Monster Hunter Stories NSP ROM is a role-playing (RPG) game that expands the Monster Hunter universe in an exciting and innovative way. Stop hunting monsters, it’s time to raise them! In this captivating story of heroes called Monster Knights, you will live with your creatures and form unbreakable bonds with them. The first game in the Monster Hunter Stories series returns with Japanese and English voice acting. It also includes new features, such as a museum mode where you can listen to music and view concept art, allowing you to further immerse yourself in the world of Monster Hunter Stories.
Gameplay & Story
You play as the main character of this story. Born in a village of knights, you spend your life raising monsters. The challenges and difficulties you face on your journey as a knight force you to leave your village and go on an adventure. Your destination: a world of hunters who live by hunting monsters. Despite their very different lifestyles, you must learn to live and work alongside the hunters who straddle both worlds.
The arrival of the Black Death makes matters even more complicated. This catastrophe is threatening the entire world, destroying lives that were once natural and peaceful. Knights and hunters will have to push their limits to deal with this threat.
The key to salvation lies in the Loyalty Stone and its hidden power, as well as the truth of the “Legend of Redan”, which reveals the best secret of the knights’ origins!
Assemble Your Best Team Of Monstries And Battle Against Players From All Over The World!
You will also have to complete quests to prove your worth. This shows that the developers have not overlooked any detail regarding Hunters from the main series games. Let’s be honest: If you’re expecting a completely remastered version of the 3DS game, you might be a little disappointed. New features are limited to exaggerated voice acting — sometimes funny, sometimes annoying — and a museum area where you can admire the stunning artwork and listen to the music. Capcom has also improved some graphical aspects, delivering flawless HD visuals in both handheld and TV modes.
The aesthetic is strongly reminiscent of the 3DS games. The camera angles and geometry are distinct, the big-screen action sequences have a slight blur effect, and the animations and facial expressions are characteristic of the previous generation. However, the latter is irreplaceable: the cinematic scenes, thanks to the cartoonish but charming portrayal of our virtual heroes, sometimes leave us speechless. This retro style impressed us and allowed us to empathize with the characters. That said, be prepared for simpler graphics than in the sequel.
