Mina the Hollower NSP ROM is an action-adventure RPG game that takes you to a terrifying world. Play as Mina, a notorious hollower on a desperate quest to save a cursed island. Face dangers and monsters, defeat your enemies, and equip yourself with a variety of weapons and items. Explore a vast world with stunning graphics, sophisticated gameplay, challenging bosses, and captivating music. Meet unusual characters, uncover the secrets of exotic locations, and dispel the darkness that shrouds everything in Mina the Hollower, the new game from the creators of Shovel Knight!
From the very first minutes of the game, you can choose your weapon: a pair of daggers, a mace, or a hammer. The hammer is undoubtedly the most original weapon, as it allows for a charged attack with the possibility of dodging during the attack animation. However, I chose the dagger because I prefer agility: I know they’re not very original, but they’re reliable and allow for melee attacks. At first glance, the mace might seem like the safest option, as it allows for ranged attacks without any major drawbacks.
You can also find secondary items for more attack versatility, but there’s an indicator that determines their usefulness. Mina the Hollow quickly proved me wrong. I tried to play as naturally as possible, exploring each area at my own pace, and it felt like the game rewarded me at every turn. You play as Mina, one of the explorers known as the Hollow, exploring various gothic-themed areas, defeating a number of terrifying enemies, and uncovering the truth behind the recent disappearance of the Spark, the source of Black Island’s power.
Discover Unique and Powerful Weapons
While some charms only improved one of Mina’s abilities, most introduced new ways to play. My favorite charm increased her reach, allowing her to cross three bottomless chasms before falling, and allowed her to use key shortcuts to dodge the toughest enemies. Unfortunately, only a few upgrades can be equipped at a time, and they can only be exchanged for other abilities at a small, safe base that Mina can see throughout the level. However, these limitations encouraged me to use these abilities more often. In the end, I chose them over other useful perks.
Mina Hollow looks like a classic 2D top-down action-adventure game, but it also evokes platforming elements, even though it is not one. Instead of jumping, Mina digs a tunnel underground. She can resurface whenever she wants, but she can’t stay buried forever. If she finds herself on the edge of a waterfall, she’ll jump, and the player controls where she lands. During the demo, I encountered several skill-based challenges that required me to time my movements and jumps precisely to progress through each section of the level.
