About This Game

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity NSP ROM is an action game that mixes the world and characters of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series. Although set in the same time period as Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors offers a completely different gameplay experience. Instead of exploring an infinite open world, you’ll be immersed in the rise of evil through a series of wars and a story that takes place a century before the events of Breath of the Wild. Those looking for the complete freedom of adventure and the open world of Breath of the Wild may be disappointed, as Koei Tecmo’s narrative style doesn’t quite replicate it.

Story

The story is surprisingly well-constructed, with unexpected twists. It is nice to see the characters interact as a group, especially considering that Breath of the Wild featured very few flashbacks of this kind. Unfortunately, the relationship between Link and Zelda is largely in the background. The two become inseparable for no apparent reason, and unlike Breath of the Wild, there’s no animosity before they get to know each other. I wish the game had expanded into the moments of the previous title, but the interactions are still fun. If you’ve played Warriors or Musou, you know exactly what to expect: slaughtering hundreds (or thousands) of enemies as you move through the battlefield towards your next objective.

Gameplay

Traditional Zelda games are straightforward in terms of plot, and this was a great opportunity to introduce more complex characters and a more detailed world. However, despite a number of cutscenes (many of which seem low-quality), most of the game’s action is limited to recreating the events of Breath of the Wild: preparing divine beasts for battle and recruiting allies. This means that Zelda remains as timid as ever, Link remains silent, and the animosity is still unbearable.

Regardless of which game you’re modding, Omega Force games always work the same way: you face hundreds of enemies at once on large maps. With the exception of minor bosses (Mobilin and the main bosses in the Age of Calamity), most enemies are completely harmless in normal mode and usually remain stationary until you’ve eliminated dozens of them.
