About This Game
Cuphead NSP ROM is an action-packed shooter game for Nintendo Switch. Released in 2017, the game draws inspiration from 1930s Disney and Fleischer Studios animated films. The developers of the game skillfully combined a unique classic style, vibrant music, and engaging yet challenging gameplay, making it an even more addictive game.
Plot
Cuphead and Mugman are two brothers living happily on the beautiful island of Inkwell. One day, despite Old Kettle’s warnings, they go to the Devil’s Casino to try their luck. The brothers win, and the Devil offers them a huge bet. If they win, they will own the entire casino; if they lose, their souls will go to the Devil. It’s an offer they can’t refuse. Unfortunately, this time luck is not on their side. After losing the bet, both kneel and beg the Devil for mercy. His task is to collect the souls of other debtors. If they failed, he would steal their souls.
An Incredibly Difficult Classic Game
Did you think Dark Souls was the hardest game in the Dark Souls series? Cuphead will change your mind. The game’s difficulty is immense, and some levels are a complete nightmare. The aim of each level is to learn enemy attack patterns and skillfully win each battle against the relentless boss. There are no save points; completing each one requires dedication and skill. Any action in the game can cause Cuphead to lose health. You will have three or more health points, but this means weaker weapons. Each level is full of enemies and bullets; even the slightest touch can cause you to lose health points.
Stunning Cartoon-Style Graphics
Every frame of Cuphead is adorned with the classic cartoon style of the 1930s. The game feels like a beautiful interactive cartoon straight out of the golden age of animation.
Creative Boss Battles
The boss battles are one of the game’s strengths. Meticulously designed and incredibly engaging. With 31 bosses, the game presents a serious challenge. Each boss, similar to Metal Slug, typically progresses through four or five different stages. Each stage has its own unique attacks and weaknesses. However, bosses don’t use all their moves at once; new attacks are added after a short break. Boss battles are incredibly challenging, and you’ll likely need to try dozens, even hundreds, of times before you defeat them.
Unlocking and Upgrading Weapons
Cuphead can fire different types of projectiles from its fingertips. Each projectile type has its own unique function and characteristics. For example, small projectiles make a basic shot effective at range, while scattering projectiles create a wide explosion but are only effective at close range. Target-tracking projectiles track their targets without the need for aiming. Players can choose from six different projectile types, each with its own unique abilities.
Overall
Cuphead boasts a stunning art style and fluid animations reminiscent of 1930s games. The game also features some of the most challenging and memorable boss battles that will truly test your skills. While the difficulty can be overwhelming at times, defeating the original bosses is incredibly satisfying. For fans of classic platform games looking for a challenging game with high-quality cartoon graphics, Cuphead is a must-have.
