About This Game
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe NSP ROM is a racing game developed and published by Nintendo. It was released in May 2014 for the Wii U. The game retains the gameplay style of the Mario Kart series, where players control characters from the Mario universe in kart races, collecting various items to defeat opponents and earn points. Mario Kart 8 introduces gravity-defying karts, allowing players to drive them off walls or ceilings and crash into each other for short power-ups. The game includes single-player and multiplayer modes, including online play via the Nintendo Network.
Mario Kart 8 was a major commercial success upon its release. Critics praised the game’s innovations, music, graphics, gameplay, and soundtrack, but criticized its limited combat system. It is the best-selling Wii U game of all time, with over eight million copies sold worldwide. Since its release, the game has received several updates and downloadable content, including additional characters, vehicles, and music, as well as compatibility with Nintendo’s Amiibo series.
Gameplay
The game follows the classic Mario Kart gameplay, where characters from the Mario universe race in cars, attempting to outrun opponents or improve their driving skills with various items from loot boxes. In addition, the game has four different difficulty levels that can be selected in advance to provide a challenging experience. Elements from previous games return, including motorcycles and the 12-player race from Mario Kart Wii, as well as gliders, water races, and car repairs from Mario Kart 7.
New Game Features
In Mario Kart 8, new features include zero-gravity racing, where on certain tracks, racers can ride through walls and ceilings. During these races, players can collide with other racers or special obstacles to activate “rotation boosts” that give them an extra boost. New characters include the Copaling family and Rose Gold Peach. Four new items are available: a boomerang flower that can be thrown at the player; a piranha plant that attacks nearby opponents and obstacles; the “Crazy Eight” which gives the user eight items; and the “Super Horn” which is used to attack nearby opponents and protect additional items: Egg, Trivium, Compitum, and Bell.
Battle Mode
This battle mode is different from the others: the Piranha Plant will remain attached to the front of one team’s vehicle, while the opposing team must escape at all costs. If the Piranha Plant captures a member of the rebel team, they will be sent to a prison located on the other side of the board. The remaining team members can try to press the button under the prison to free the captured player.
